OVERVIEW

The Optimist Club and Chapter Liability Plan protects your organization from Lawsuits resulting from bodily injury or property damage at chapter or club-sponsored activities. The plan also pays the court and legal costs for defense.

By selecting a comprehensive Liability Plan, Optimist is able to shield your club or chapter members from costly lawsuits. This coverage provides not only peace of mind for your club or chapter members, but it also satisfies the need for proof of insurance required by many venues.

A Certificate of Insurance evidences Liability coverage provided by the Optimist International Insurance plan. It is not unusual for the event venue or property owner to require a copy of the Certificate of Insurance be provided for each planned event

Complete and submit a Certificate of Insurance Request form 30 days prior to the planned event. For exceptions or special requests contact Mercer Consumer at 1-800-503-9227.

The insurance carrier, Philadelphia, offers many risk management resources for clubs to help educate their members and volunteers on safe practices.  Many of the resources listed below are available at no charge while some services may have a cost.  For details, please click on the “Risk Management” button in the Forms section to view the information sheet, course descriptions & brochure; all of which may be downloaded.  The information sheets also have links to www.myphly.com where you will gain access to these resources.
 

To get started, contact the Optimist International Headquarters to request the master policy number necessary when creating a personalized log in for your club.
